The front hallway makeover takes on the functionality and deadly threat of the hall coat tree, which makes a wonderful design element with its undulating curves and black wrought iron. I love light. When I get up in the morning, I open the blinds all around the house and let the light in. In the living room, breakfast room, my office, and even my bedroom. I even frosted my bathroom window so I could keep my blinds open all the time. I gotta have light.

In a previous post, I discussed finding my perfect match. Paint match, that is. After months of staring at off-white walls and needing to feel at home in this new house, I found a color scheme that I’m pretty sure I can love “till death do us part”. The other day, I began to notice a discarded pallet on the side of the road that must have been waiting for weeks to be picked up by the garbage trucks. We had had an ice storm back in early December and the debris from this storm was still sitting in piles everywhere. Which is where I spied my little treasure…. and oh the ideas that came to mind with all that repurposed wood.
It ALL started with this picture I found on Pinterest:
It was the perfect wall color…. it had a green/gray tone and was a cool neutral which is exactly what I was looking for. Even the tile in the picture was the same as my front hallway.
